Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Countdown is designed to be simple and privacy-conscious. The app does not require an account, does not run a custom backend for user accounts, and does not sell personal information.

Information the app stores

The app may store countdown information you create, including title, emoji, date, time, color, category, reminder choices, notes if added, and whether a countdown was imported from or exported to Calendar. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple system storage.

Calendar access

If you choose to import events from Calendar, the app requests permission to read calendar events so you can select which events to turn into countdowns. The app only imports events you choose. If you choose to export countdowns to Calendar, the app requests permission to create calendar events. Calendar access is used only for import and export features.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app uses Apple’s local notification system to remind you about selected countdowns. Notifications are scheduled on your device.

Widgets

The app may share limited countdown data with its widget extension so your Home Screen widget can display the selected countdown. This shared data is used only for widget display.

No account

The app does not require you to create an account.

No ads

The app does not show ads.

No sale of personal data

The app does not sell personal data.

Third-party services

The MVP does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or account systems. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated.

Your choices

You can deny Calendar or Notification permissions and still use the app manually. You can also change permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
